How to Edit Your WordPress Site With AI Chat

The AI Chat Widget turns your WordPress admin experience into a conversation. Instead of navigating through menus and settings panels, just tell it what you want to change.

Setup

Enable the AI Chat module in AuditMySite > Modules
Make sure you have a Gemini API key configured in the AI Content module
The chat bubble will appear in the bottom-right corner of your site (visible to admins only)

What You Can Do

The chat widget understands natural language commands for common site changes:

Change Colors

Say: "Change the background color to light blue" or "Make the header dark gray"

The widget updates your theme's customizer settings. You will see a confirmation prompt before any change is applied.

Create Blog Posts

Say: "Write a blog post about kitchen remodeling tips" or "Create a new post about spring cleaning"

The AI generates a draft post and asks for your approval before creating it in WordPress.

Toggle Maintenance Mode

Say: "Turn on maintenance mode" or "Take the site offline"

Enables or disables the maintenance mode feature from the Admin Tools module.

General Questions

For anything else, the AI uses Gemini to provide helpful responses about WordPress, SEO, or your site.

Safety

Every change requires confirmation before it is applied. The chat widget will describe what it is about to do and ask you to confirm. Nothing happens without your approval.

The widget is visible to administrators only by default. You can change this in the AI Chat settings if you want other user roles to access it.

Limitations

Cannot directly edit post content (use the WordPress editor for that)
Cannot install or remove plugins
Cannot modify theme files directly
Works best for simple, common changes

Think of it as a quick-action tool for the changes you make most often, not a replacement for the full WordPress admin.
